The Bantu Now Marketplace lets verified users list and buy preloved items from each other, like a classifieds board. These terms apply together with the Terms of Service.
6.1 Our role. Bantu Now is a venue. Each sale is between the seller and the buyer. We are not the seller, we do not own or inspect items, and we do not guarantee the quality, safety, legality or description of any item.
6.2 Sellers. You must own the item and have the right to sell it. Describe it accurately, use your own photos, set a fair price, and list only legal and safe items. Hand over the item as agreed.
6.3 Buyers. Check the item before you pay, ask questions in chat, pay as agreed, and treat sellers respectfully.
6.4 Prohibited items. You may not list:
- alcohol, tobacco, vape products or drugs
- adult or sexual products and services
- live animals, or products from protected or endangered species
- counterfeit or replica goods
- weapons, ammunition or explosives
- stolen or illegal items, and gambling products or accounts
- prescription medicine, medical devices, supplements and slimming products
- recalled or unsafe items
- scams, pyramid or get-rich-quick schemes, and moneylending
- offensive content, or other people's personal data
We may remove any listing, and suspend accounts that break these rules.
6.5 Payment and fees. Listing an item is free. Item payments are made inside Bantu Now through escrow. When a buyer presses Buy, they pay the item price plus a buyer protection fee into escrow (5% of the item price for FPX online banking, 6.5% for card). The seller hands over the item (pickup or delivery), and the buyer confirms receipt. We then release the full item price to the seller. The buyer protection fee is Bantu Now's marketplace commission. If the buyer does not respond within 3 working days after the seller marks the item as handed over, payment is released automatically unless a dispute is open. Optional pickup or delivery booked through Bantu Now is a task, priced and paid under the Fees and Payment Terms (section 2).
6.6 Meeting and safety. Meet in a public place, check the item before you pay, and never share bank or card details in chat. Follow the Community and Safety Guidelines (section 5). If you pay outside Bantu Now for a marketplace item, we cannot help with refunds or disputes.
6.7 Disputes and returns. Try to settle problems directly first. Because item payments go through escrow, either side can open a dispute under section 3 before payment is released. In other cases we will try to help in good faith, but we are not obliged to resolve the dispute.
6.8 Reporting. Use the report button on any listing that looks illegal, fake or unsafe.
6.9 Liability. Items are sold as is between users. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for loss or damage arising from marketplace sales, as set out in clause 1.6.
